Surf Board
A surf board is one of the simplest sporting devices ever invented since the ball. In its simplest form it is just a board that is used in the ocean to ride waves and in its most complex form it also has shape, fins and a leash. Throw some sex wax on the sides and top for grip and any surfer is ready to ride.
Typically a surf board will be between 5 and 10 feet in length though some prefer to ride longer boards which are rightly called longboards, but the average length is roughly 7 feet which allows for a good amount of buoyancy as well as being easy to maneuver and turn. The tip comes to a point and the widest area is under the front foot with a slight taper to the back where the fins are located.
Riding a surf board requires a lot of patience and practice as well as requiring the surfer to be physically fit. There are no fat surfers because that fat was burned off paddling out to the next wave or break. There is a lot of swimming involved and surfers have some of the strongest arm paddles around. The art is in catching and riding the wave.
