Surf Clothing

Surf clothing is as difficult to define as any other type of clothing because it is always changing and evolving with different trends and styles being popular one moment and ugly the next. It is literally what a surfer wears and that depends more on their attitude and lifestyle. It can range from the most hardcore punk rockers to the most laid back hippies and anywhere in between.

What is advertised to the masses as surf clothing is sun faded and roughed up pants which often are loose fitting with roomy pockets. Frayed seams are common, but that is what happens when a surfer spends a lot of time at the beach, an effect that is often mimicked with brand new clothing although the wear marks are never quite right.

Surf clothing gets beat up and abused only to be quickly thrown into a pile when the next wave surge is coming. They have to be durable and functional to prove useful and often will be worn almost every day until they disintegrate. Comfort is just as important as functionality though, make sure these close feel good because that is point anyway.
